Using Troctor Next with Zoom

Troctor Next can connect to your Zoom account and import your own cloud recordings, turning each one into a conversation with a speaker-labelled transcript, an AI summary with action items, and full-text search. There is no meeting bot: Troctor never joins, attends, or records a Zoom meeting. It only fetches recordings that already exist in your Zoom cloud, one at a time, when you choose them. This page is the complete guide, adding the app, using it, and removing it.

What you need

Three things, and nothing else: a Troctor account with Troctor Next access (Next is part of the Troctor beta, ask for access from your dashboard); a Zoom account on a paid plan, because cloud recording is a paid Zoom feature; and at least one meeting recorded to the Zoom cloud, recordings saved to a computer instead of the cloud are not visible to Zoom's own API, so Troctor cannot see them either.

Adding the app

The connection starts inside Troctor Next, not in the Zoom Marketplace, and takes under a minute.

1. Open Integrations
Sign in at troctor.com/next/app and choose Integrations in the left sidebar.
2. Connect with Zoom
Find the Zoom card and press Connect with Zoom. Your browser goes to Zoom's own sign-in and consent screen, the sign-in happens between your browser and Zoom, never on a Troctor page.
3. Review and allow
Zoom shows exactly what the app is asking for: reading your profile (your email, used to label the connection) and reading your cloud recording list. Press Allow.
4. Done
You land back on the Integrations page with the Zoom card connected and your Zoom email on it. Press Test any time to prove the connection, it answers with how many cloud recordings Zoom reported for the last 30 days.

Importing a recording

1. Browse recordings
On the connected Zoom card, press Browse recordings. Troctor asks Zoom for your last 30 days of cloud recordings and lists them, title, date, duration and file size, newest first. The list is fetched to show you and is not stored.
2. Import one
Press Import on a recording. Troctor picks the audio-only file when your recording has one (it is much smaller), otherwise the video, and fetches it from Zoom over an encrypted connection. The conversation appears on your feed immediately, marked Transcribing….
3. Wait a few minutes
Transcription runs in the background. The card updates on its own when the words are ready. There is nothing to refresh and no need to keep the page open.

Limits, stated plainly: recordings up to 250 MB (larger ones are shown but labelled, not importable), up to 5 imports per day per account, and imports draw on the same daily transcription allowance as live recording. Transcripts are English-language in the current beta.

What you get

An imported recording becomes an ordinary Troctor Next conversation: a transcript with speaker labels and timestamps, the original recording kept with it and included when you export, an AI-written summary with action items and an outline, and full-text search across everything. You can rename it, file it, share it as a private link, export it (TXT, SRT, VTT, JSON, Markdown, with the recording in the same zip), or send the summary to Slack, Notion, Google Drive, or your webhook, everything a recorded conversation can do, an imported one can do.

Removing the app

From Troctor (the complete removal): open Troctor NextIntegrations → the Zoom card → Disconnect. This deletes the stored credential from our servers and asks Zoom to revoke it, so the app can no longer read anything from your Zoom account. Conversations you already imported are yours and remain in Troctor Next; delete any of them from the conversation page (⋯ → Delete), which permanently removes the transcript, the summary and the imported recording file for everyone.

From Zoom's side, equivalently: sign in to the Zoom App MarketplaceManageAdded Apps → find the Troctor app → Remove. This revokes the app's access at Zoom regardless of anything on our side. Either route fully cuts the connection; doing both is fine.

What the app can access

Two read-only permissions: your Zoom profile (user:read:user, the email shown on the integration's card) and your cloud recording list (cloud_recording:read:list_user_recordings). The app never creates, edits or deletes anything in your Zoom account, and recordings you do not import are never stored. The full detail, what is fetched, what is kept, the transcription provider, credential handling, is in the Zoom section of our privacy policy, and the terms that govern connected services are in our Terms of Use.

Troubleshooting

The list is empty
Cloud recording needs a paid Zoom plan, and the meeting must have been recorded to the cloud, check zoom.us → Recordings → Cloud Recordings. Troctor lists the last 30 days.
The card says the last read failed
Zoom connections expire after 90 days without use, and you can revoke them from Zoom at any time. Press Connect with Zoom on the card to reconnect, nothing you imported is affected.
A recording says “Over 250 MB”
That file is larger than the import limit. If Zoom made an audio-only file for that meeting Troctor already preferred it; a long video-only recording may simply be too large for the beta's limit.
An import shows an error on its page
The fetch or transcription failed; the recording itself is safe in your Zoom account. Reconnect Zoom if the card suggests it, then import again, a failed import never counts against your transcription allowance.
